The San Diego Padres have agreed to a Minor League deal with Brian Dozier.

The deal includes an invitation to Spring Training.

"He's been to the World Series the last two years in a row," Jayce Tingler said. "He's got a really good track record, a very good resume. He's played on a lot of winning teams, especially the last couple years. We're excited to get around him."

Dozier, a veteran of eight Major League seasons, batted .238/.340/.430 with 20 homers and 20 doubles for the Washington Nationals last season.

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms on a one-year, $4 million deal with Kevin Pillar.

The deal could become official this weekend if Pillar passes his physical.

Pillar is coming off perhaps the best season of his career. He hit .259/.287/.432 in 161 games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced an agreement on a four-year, $32.5 million extension with Nick Ahmed.

The two-time Gold Glove winner's new deal runs through the 2023 season.

Ahmed, 29, was eligible for salary arbitration and had his hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

"At the end of the day, I'd rather be here than anywhere else," he said. "They presented me with an opportunity, I thought long and hard about it, and I took advantage of the opportunity."

The Colorado Rockies have finalized a two-year, $27.5 million contract with Trevor Story.

The agreement allowed the two sides to avoid arbitration.

Story, 27, remains eligible to become a free agent following the 2021 World Series.
